Design and Build
The Seagate Backup Plus Portable has a very simple metallic design on the colored part and very easy to hold textured sides and back so that the drive would not slip from our hands easily. It's strong and sturdy. Given the high capacity, it's a little heavier than those 1TB, 2TB portable drives. Also one thing that I have to point out is, unlike many other Hard Drives from other companies, the Product Details ie Serial Number, Product Code, regulatory compliances, part number, and capacity etc. are written very clearly on the bottom of this drive. Something very convenient for older people with not perfect eye sight to register their products on Seagate Website.

Speed
Speed wise, I don't have the perfect system to test the fullest potential of this Hard Drive. But with my i7 6th Gen, 16 GB High Speed RAM, SuperSpeed USB 3.0, the Seagate Backup Plus Portable performed very decently and speeds are stable throughout my backup process, which is very important. I tested it using the famous and most reliable ATTO Disk Benchmark
Read Speed at Highest I got using my Laptop was 132.87 MB/s
Write Speed at Highest I got using my Laptop was 119.07 MB/s
On faster computers, it can go up to 140 MB/s both Read and Write.
