I Believe that every Dream can be achieved with Actions, and every Action might come with Consequences. I'm willing to take that because I want Results!
Let me share with you a little on how I started YouTube.
As you are aware, YouTube do have their own censorship security installed whereby certain videos require a certification of your age prior to playing the video. It just happened that I was about to watch something INTERESTING (If you know me, you'll understand this) on YouTube in early October of 2006, I was blocked! Well, in desperation of watching that video on that very moment, I registered myself as a YouTube user. After watching it, there goes 2 years of untouched YouTube account. I did not even remember the existence of my account with YouTube until early 2008.
One fine day in early 2008, I decided to Google myself. I noticed that when I Googled my name, I saw a video of me playing the piano for UMASS 24th Asian Night year 2007 posted by my friend June Chen. Although I was informed by her earlier but, I did not bother to check it out until that day. I was amazed with the positive comments, ratings, and views fetched by that single video, I thought to myself, "Hey, I can play!"
With a humble little Sony DSC-T7mini digital camera which was half broken and semi-unconscious battery (I used a transparent plastic bag to cover my camera in hope of taking underwater pictures in Maine, The Poor Man's Waterproof Casing), I began recording my songs. In the early days, YouTube kinda started off as a Cloud Storage for me when I was not serious about it. I've broken my very first portable hard drive and lost all my files, pictures, audios, videos, PowerPoint Slides etc. and therefore, Cloud is always a better option. Recording my songs into videos is also very helpful for me as I've never been able to remember any of the songs I've played in the past.
I did my first upload with my cousin's computer in Brooklyn, New York. I lived in Chinatown back in New York City without any phone or internet connection. I had to WarDrive and hack signals from any nearby routers that my computer was able to catch. When there was no signal at my place, I would have to sit out at the nearest park to share the public Wi-Fi upon availability be it rain or shine, freezing winter or blazing summer (Imagine over 1 year period with such condition, that was me back then) Fortunately, I had the opportunity to upload videos when I visit my friends in Boston, Amherst, Arizona, family in California, and also while I was traveling on job or training. Uploading videos on YouTube was as difficult as Adidas (Impossible is Nothing)
With hard work and determination, I am beginning to see some results over time. Although there are many extremely talented people on YouTube, as an amateur musician with zero video-editing knowledge, I feel really blessed and thankful to have your support. In order to please your razor sharp eyes and demanding ears, I am now using the State-of-The-Art Full 1080 High Definition Video Camera to record my videos, from a position where you can even learn to play by just watching me. Thank you very much from the bottom of my heart.
Last, but not least, now that I have shared my story and my little achievement in life. I sincerely pray from the bottom of my heart that I will witness yours too. Although there are some people who are born talented, but raw talent can be defined with the equation below.
Talent = 10,000 hours of hard work + action + determination + family, friends, & fans support + a little luck
