It has been a pretty hot month in Malaysia and air conditioners at home are taking quite some time to cool down our rooms. I love going home to my already chilled home studio so I can just sit back, relax and start producing videos for you guys. I also love going straight to my already chilled bedroom where I can just get prepared for a good night sleep. Earlier this month, I manage to get my hands on a very smart remote control, the Sensibo Sky from goSmartAsia, a very reliable company that distribute Smart Home Devices, for my air conditioners at home. They distribute their products mainly in Lazada Malaysia.
The Sensibo Sky
The Sensibo Sky allows us to control our all our existing Air Conditioners remotely using our Smartphone, in my case, my Android Smartphone. It also integrates well with Alexa and Google Assistant. Moreover, Sensibo's app is pretty powerful on its own, making the Sensibo Sky an absolutely amazing pick as a smart home device.
The Sensibo Sky allows us to control our all our existing Air Conditioners remotely using our Smartphone, in my case, my Android Smartphone. It also integrates well with Alexa and Google Assistant. Unboxing The Sensibo Sky
The Sensibo Sky comes in two colors, Black and White, the device has smooth round edges and measures 3.2 x 2.2 x 0.8 inches (8.128cm x 5.588cm x 2.032cm). Within the box, there is a power adapter and USB Cable. The upper third has a glossy finish and blue light illuminating Sensibo logo, while the lower two-thirds is matte, Black or White, with the word Sensibo on it. There is also a strong infrared transmitter and an accurate thermometer embedded within the device to measure the current temperature in our rooms.
The Sensibo Sky connects to our home Wi-Fi network via the Sensibo app on our smartphone. We can send commands to turn your air conditioner on and off, set fan speeds, set temperatures, set schedules and more, whenever and wherever we are as long as there is Internet connections.

After plugging in the unit (with the provided power adapter and USB Cable or we can use our own multi USB Adapters and type A to MicroUSB Cables too). The back has a hook as well as a sticker so we can choose whichever mounting method works better for us.
Subsequently, we just need to install and start the Sensibo app on our smartphone. There is a QR code at the bottom of the device for us to scan so that the app can recognize the device immediately. After that, the app will assist us through the process of pairing that particular device with our home Wi-Fi network (it is important to know that the Sensibo Sky connects ONLY to the 2.4GHz band, our phone won't be able to see the Sensibo Sky if we're connected to a 5GHz network, so it's advisable to just temporarily switch our phone's network to set it up then only we switch it back to 5GHz after setting up the device).
After that, the Sensibo app will instruct us to point our air-conditioner's remote at the Sensibo Sky's transmitter, and press the power button on the remote. The Sensibo Sky will automatically recognize the remote control immediately within seconds.

There are also other very smart functions such as :
Climate React Mode - An automated feature that triggers the air conditioner if the Sensibo detects certain environmental criteria. For instance, if the temperature hits 29 degree Celsius, we can have the Sensibo Sky turn On our air conditioner to 23 degree Celsius, with the fan on medium. Then, when the room reaches a certain temperature, the Sensibo Sky can once again change the air-conditioner's setting.
Scheduling - We can set multiple schedules for the the air conditioner go On, even setting specific temperatures for each schedule.
Geo-Fencing - An automated feature which helps us turn On our air conditioners automatically when we arrive home, and turn it Off when we leave, default setting is 100 meters radius.
Smart Home Devices Compatibility - Sensibo Sky works with Alexa, Google Assistant/Home and IFTTT, and these devices will also allow us to connect our Sensibo Sky to other smart-home systems, such as SmartThings. But we will need to set them up manually.
Other Features include Syncing our Air Conditioner's Power State, so that we know if it's currently On or Off. Change Remote, in case we change or upgrade our Air Conditioners. Switching between Fahrenheit and Celsius, Filter Cleaning Reminders and more.

- Lacking Additional Features of certain air conditioners. For instance, my Air Conditioner has Oxygen Enhancements, Negative Ions, etc. which is exclusive to its own remote control.
