​The Prices of Decent Digital Pianos, Especially Full-Sized 88 Weighted Keys Digital Pianos, are usually on the higher side. On the other hand, affordable digital pianos usually sound cheap, like those honky tonk kinda sound, lousy speakers, with virtually unplayable keyboards. Something that we will never want to touch for more than 5 minutes. 

To my huge surprise, the Donner DEP-20 truly changed my perception on affordable digital pianos. It really offer a lot of features that really decent digital pianos have at a price that is exceptionally competitive. Many digital pianos at his price range would be blown away. The keys are well weighted, action is fairly fast, feels good when playing it. Sound is good with the built-in speakers, quite loud for its size. Sounds even more fantastic on headphones. For this price, it also offers pretty amazing features such as 238 tones, 128 polyphony, recording functionality, Mp3 support, metronome, dual headphone connections, and much more.

Verdict :

Pros : 
1. Price, this is exceptionally competitive
2. Weighted Keys and ivory like touch on black keys, some people like this, some people don't, I like it. Action is comparable to Yamaha GHS. 
3. Decent speakers for the size
4. Light! Easy to carry around, especially for video shooting. Woohoo!!
5. Comes with a decent sustain pedal not those cheap square box pedal

Cons :
1. Does not come with a keyboard stand, but it's fine, I have extras
2. Piano samples sounded a little flat. Hopefully this can be improved with software or firmware updates. Hehe. Otherwise, I can always connect it to my computer and use my own purchased samples
3. The soft touch of the piano is not really soft, velocity points can hopefully be improved with software or firmware updates. Loud notes are fine
4. Doesn't support half pedal, which is usually more realistic, but at this price range, I can't really complain
5. The power plug that came with my keyboard was not compatible with my country, so I had to use an adapter

Suitable for :

1. Beginner to Intermediate Piano Players
2. Backup Piano for High End Players ie for Livestream or Bedroom Piano
3. Portable Piano for Video Shooting, need power source if want to turn it on
4. Producers, USB Midi Connection available with decent velocity control and doesn't take up much space

I've always wanted a super portable digital piano that is 88 keys, sounds decent, has Midi capabilities, rechargeable, and most importantly, super light and portable. I've tried those roll up piano keyboard, they are decent but not really fun to play.

This Eastar EP-10 Foldable Digital Piano from Donner is quite a unique Digital Piano. It's powered by a decent Lithium Ion rechargeable battery, has stereo speakers, great connectivity options, 88 keys, light, basically almost all features that I would like to have in a very portable piano.

Even though, it may not sound or feel as great as an actual 88 key piano, but this is easily compensated by its portability.  For me, this keyboard is great for a few reasons :

1. Super portable, I can use it to shoot my videos of my piano covers in beautiful locations in future, ie the seaside or up in the mountains. I've always dreamt of that but both my keyboards are over 20 kilograms. It's tough for me to even carry them out of my room.

2. I can also bring it to some small parties to play. Or play it in a subway. Heh heh!

3. In case I don't fancy it's provided piano sound, I can always connect it to my computer via USB Type C and play it with the best available piano samples.

4. In case of a quarantine ie in Hotels when I travel, this is a really good travel buddy, haha. Touch wood!

Here's another post for Audio Enthusiasts like myself. About 2 years ago, I was given the opportunity to thoroughly review the Tronsmart Element Mega, one of Tronsmart's Flagship Bluetooth Speakers back then. It was such an amazing speakers that I actually gotten myself another one just to experience its  True Wireless Stereo (TWS)  feature.

For many years, I've known Tronsmart for their exceptional ability in their production of battery related gadgets ie Powerbanks, Chargers, etc. But today, Tronsmart has come a long way in production of Audio Equipments from High Quality to High Fidelity Audio Enthusiasts Quality today.

This round, I'll be sharing about the Tronsmart Element T6 Max with SoundPulse Technology.

After Approximately 2 Weeks of Thorough Testing, Here Are My Findings :

Form Factor

If you've ever seen the Tronsmart Element T6 before, this is like the Tronsmart Element T6 on Steroids. Upgraded, Enhanced, Much Bigger, Much Better, Much More Powerful. Well, size DOES matter! 

Weighting at around 2 kilograms, the speaker is slightly on the heavier side. Albeit the weight, it is actually compact and portable to carry around with bundled storage pouch. Its build quality is Excellent with highly durable Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene as housing material. The Tronsmart Element T6 Max is meticulously crafted in premium aluminium alloy and fabric finished speaker grill which also houses a whooping 4 tweeters and 1 woofer, plus the custom-designed array of 8 passive radiator all within the Tronsmart Element T6 Max. It is definitely minimalist yet stylish in design. 

Power

Tronsmart being one of the top producers of high quality Power Banks and batteries in the world, has allow them to incorporate the same technology into their audio equipments as well. On a pretty loud 50% volume level, a single charge will can provide around 20 hours of playback time, while on over 70% volume which I do use sometimes when I'm watching movies on my phone, it allows for a little over 3 movies before the speaker starts to show any sign of a charge is needed. Due to the larger battery, charging time is also a little longer than some of the small speakers. It is advised to charge this baby with a higher quality USB charger rather than those cheap low wattage and voltage ones. A cheap low power charger may not properly charge the device.

Usage

At the top of the Tronsmart Element T6 Max, there is a simple and intuitive touch panel with integrated lighting where all navigation buttons are located. The integrated lighting will go off after 30 seconds of inactivity. Simply tap it to bring the backlight back again.

On the bottom back of the speakers are the USB-C port, DC input, AUX input and power button with cover. 

Connection is simple. Simply power it on, find Tronsmart Element T6 Max on our phone or computer, and click connect. It's that simple.

Unlike the Tronsmart Element Mega that I have, the Tronsmart Element T6 Max does not have any micro SD slot. This means, there is no built-in MP3 / WMA player. As for usage with calls, the Tronsmart Element T6 Max is loud and clear.

T6 Max is loaded with IPX5 water-resistant. No worry about getting wet with splashes and sprays. It can easily withstand sprays from sitting next to the sink, the pool, or the shower even though the black fabric may get wet.

Connectivity

There are 2 connectivity options available, Bluetooth 5.0 with NFC pairing and the oldie worldie AUX In connection for non wireless devices.

Having Bluetooth 5.0 with NFC pairing allows the two technologies can work together to create even better connectivity between wireless devices. The NFC connects devices quickly and then sends a signal to the Bluetooth that allows the devices to move further apart while staying connected and avoiding the dreaded “Searching for a device” message. Bluetooth 5.0 Range is outstanding even in between walls. Audio and Video are always well synchronized with no noticeable latency delay. This is great for watching movies, MVs or also my piano videos where my fingers should always be in sync with the audio. Bravissimo!

Sound Quality

The Bass and Depth of the Tronsmart Element T6 Max is quite a major upgrade from all its predecessors. The placement of the speakers, tweeters and radiators within the Tronsmart Element T6 Max allows it to radiate a 360 degree balanced, detailed and wide-range surround sound audio to every different corners of the room and the very same feature also makes it a great outdoor speaker. 

In addition to that, the Tronsmart Element T6 Max features their latest SoundPulse Technology. Ordinary speakers typically have sound defects, or harmonic distortions, within a certain frequency range. Tronsmart SoundPulse™ technology is able to counteract sound defects by eliminating any harsh noise; this makes the vocals more gentle, the sound richer, and allows us to enjoy our music for a longer period of time.

Besides the amazing SoundPulse technology, The Tronsmart Element T6 Max comes equipped with 3 equalizer audio modes - Balanced, 3D and Deep Bass.

Balanced is warm and gentle, suitable for long hours listening to music. Balanced audio effect is the default setting when you turn on the speaker.

3D is super suitable when we're watching movies. It creates the big space environment as if we are watching movies in the cinema. This is even better with the TWS, for two speakers setup.

Deep Bass mode is good for clubbing, EDM, or dance songs. Good for parties, outdoors or indoors where Bass and Atmosphere is more important than pure sound quality.

I would strongly prefer if there is an indicator of which sound mode is the current sound mode because with this setup, we have to always guess it. Apart from that, it's almost a perfect Bluetooth Speaker.

Verdict

For maximum benefit and pleasure of the Tronsmart Element T6 Max, I would strongly suggest getting two to make full use of it's True Wireless Stereo Technology. Having the opportunity to experience the TWS for Tronsmart Element Mega, I know that 1+1 is way way way more than 2 for these babies.

After around two weeks of testing it, here are my findings :

Form Factor

The Tronsmart Onyx Ace is designed to be extremely light and comfortable, featuring a user-friendly design that allows you to use your fingers or your voice commands to control most of their commands and functions. These earphones are so comfortable that they can also be worn for even hours without making our inner ears sore.

Casing

The casing of the Tronsmart Onyx Ace is compact, light, yet high quality. The glossy finishing makes it really classy too. It’s easy to carry in our pocket thanks to its compact size and light weight. The casing also features indicator lights, so we always know that our earphones are charging and how much battery is available in the casing.

Power

Tronsmart being one of the top producers of high quality Power Banks and batteries in the world, has allow them to incorporate the same technology into their earbuds and earphones. Both Tronsmart Onyx Ace earphones and case, fully charges within 1 hour and 30 minutes, from zero. At 50% volume, the earphones plays for over 5 hours each charge, and they can be charged in the case for over 4 times, giving them over 24 hours of play time. At full volume, they last a little over 3 hours.

The casing uses a USB C port which allows fast charging where we can benefit a lot with a "quickie charge" which allow the earphones to charge for only about 15 minutes to provide us couple hours of playback. This is particularly useful if we need to leave quickly but forgot to charge the earphones the night before. I sometimes charge my case  in the car while driving, it's that simple! We can even leave the charging case plugged in for most of the time without any memory effect issues from overcharging.

The casing also features four indicator lights that can quickly tell us how much power is available. When Four LED lights flickering in sequence, it means that the case is being charged, the first LED light indicates that the right earbud is charging, and the fourth LED light indicates that the left bud is charging.

Usage 

The Tronsmart Onyx Ace comes with voice access that we can activate with just a single tap on the side of our earphone. This voice access connectivity works with both Siri and Google Assistant. It even works with Cortana, and activating the voice assistant is as simple as saying “OK Google” or "Hey Siri".

This voice assistant allows us to accept phone calls, change the volume of our earbuds, or select different tracks or even fast-forward on the same track all without touching the earphones by hand. It’s particularly useful need to accept or and phone calls when our hands are busy, or we want to continue doing work without breaking our productivity.

On the other hand, we can also engage all these above features using simple touch commands instead of voice commands. Merely touching the center of each earphone gently will allow us to access its core functions, and the number of taps input was the direction of those inputs determines which function we select. Full instructions are available in the simple user manual.

Connectivity

Connectivity is awesome due to the usage of Bluetooth 5.0 Technology. Takes only seconds to connect. The pair of earphones connect automatically upon being taken out from the case and connection to our phones and computers is very very fast too. Sound is very clear for up to 15 meters, range is still very good even between thick walls of my house.

The high speed and stability of Bluetooth 5.0 also allows every connection forged by the earphones to be stable, powerful, and deliver crystal clear audio. Furthermore, the earphones should receive strong signals when we select tracks using our mobile device or want to switch songs. It doesn’t take repeated tries for the earphones to accept an input command.

Sound Quality

Tronsmart have come a very long way in terms of producing earphones and earbuds with better and better quality, breaking their own records each and every time. The Tronsmart Onyx  Ace features two separate  microphones which allows crystal clear voice to be heard by people that we are communicating with. This is extremely crucial because there are many earbuds or earphones in the market that have decent quality sound but really lousy microphones. 

The latest Qualcomm Chip paired with the latest Bluetooth 5.0 technology allows the earphones to receive and deliver seamless crystal clear audio without any noise, lags or latency issues. The passive noise cancellation technology is very effective and it allows phone conversation to be so clear that our listener will think that we are talking to them in an enclosed studio.

Furthermore, the Tronsmart Onyx Ace now comes with enlarged 13 mm drivers for each earphone. The sound delivered by the drivers and the chip is extremely high fidelity and this setup allows crystal clear Treble, Mid, and Bass to be delivered seamlessly. We are getting audiophile quality for this price.
