For Photography at Krabi, Thailand
I'm not a person who normally write reviews and stuffs like this, but this was one of my most amazing photography experience ever at Krabi, Thailand. The professionalism, closeness, relatedness, and sincere friendship shown by Nut (Chaisit Tularak) is simply mind blowing. I've never met his wife before, but I think she is as amazing as well.
So here is my story :
In March of 2014, Abby and I visited Krabi for a short vacation to relax and chill, and I thought of taking the opportunity to take pictures for my wedding at Krabi. I've surveyed many websites and Facebook pages (countless) and all are very competitive. Most pictures from many different photographers are beautiful too. Nut stood out the most because he was the first to respond to me and he write and speaks pretty good english too. Then we exchanged contacts and he contacted me on whatsApp as well, which made things a lot easier. I paid half the cost to him via PayPal as deposit and offered a little extra for him bringing us out to beautiful locations to take pictures rather than our hotel alone. PayPal take about 7-12 days for clearance, so it's good to pay early so that Nut gets the money he deserves sooner.
Upon arrival at Krabi, we whatsApped each other and he warmly greeted me with "Welcome to Krabi, enjoy your stay here. See you tomorrow." I think that was quite sweet. On the day of our shooting, he arrived early. He discussed with our hotel in hope that our hotel, Rimlay Villa, would allow us to take a few pictures are at a more private location before we head out, but that was denied. Rimlay was a little too strict with their policies, but I do understand why.
Nut then took us to 3 different absolutely beautiful locations for the shooting and those location were pretty far away (almost an hour's drive, holy shit!) and they were very private. He has a very good assistant too. They have all the nice crops prepared.
If you notice from the sands and backgrounds in the pictures, locations in all pictures are different. I believe these are some of the best places for shooting in Krabi, Thailand, otherwise we would not be travelling so far to take these pictures. By the way, Nut drives a very nice white Toyota Camry Hybrid, the car is so comfortable and quiet, I could hardly notice if there was any engine sound at all. Nut chatted with us and introduced us to local cuisines and attractions along the way. The experience was beyond just photographer and customer, more like friendship. Oh ya, if you can't find a proper place to change your clothes, his Camry features totally dark tinted glass.
Towards the end of the shooting, Nut took us to one of the best locations for sunset in Krabi. We took some nice shots there and waited patiently for the sun to start to set. As the sun was setting, we took some gorgeous pictures there. Here are two of them. I'm not sure if I've selected the best ones, but I think they look good.
My story doesn't end here. On the very next day, Nut has completed the editing and touch ups of all pictures! I believed he worked Over Time for his clients. He provided me a pretty DVD with cover as well as added the same pictures into my SD Card that I've provided him too.
In spite of me having limited internet connections and means of communication, Nut's Wife actually found (saw) Abby and I on the bus on our way back to our hotel from Ao Nang town. He actually drove all the way to Ao Nang to pass us the DVD and SD Card and I know he lives pretty far away. As soon as the wife saw us on the bus, he immediately stopped the moving bus and passed us the DVD. His wife was very sharp to be able to recognize us in such darkness and she have never even seen us in person before.
If you're looking for a wonderful photography experience at Krabi, give Nut a try. I am not writing this in hope for anything in return, I just feel that Nut deserves an article for all the great experiences that he has provided Abby and I.
