It's a rather new technology because over here, we are combining two separate Bluetooth devices and yet having each of them product a separate sound with separate Audio Signals, Left and Right Channels. This also means that the Bluetooth Technology used in these systems gotta be fast enough to avoid delays in sound or reduced sound quality.
In the past, you may have noticed that many Bluetooth headphones, earbuds, speakers sound much more muffled compared to their wired counterparts. That is also one of the reasons Audio Enthusiasts kept refusing to switch to wireless for the past decade. Sound quality was bad for wireless devices in the past.
In case you're new to Bluetooth Technology. Just like USB Technology, Bluetooth Technology has come a very long way. Let me run you through how we have evolve for the past decade.
Audio file bit rates are measured in thousands of bits per second, or kbps. A CD contains audio at 1,411 kbps, and when you convert that audio to a lossy file, its bit rate is much lower. A higher bit rate is better, so a 256 kbps MP3 or AAC file is better than a 128 kbps file.
Even when Bluetooth 3.0 is able to transfer data at 24 Mbps, we had issues with interference from other wireless devices and range issues. Thus, high fidelity sound was not achievable. With lower quality audio, everything sounds like background music and muffled. Imagine listening to low quality FM Radio.
With older phones, it will work at backwards compatibility mode, which is still fine. Audio Quality is still good. But with newer phones, you get to enjoy the full Bluetooth 5.0 capabilities of the earbuds.
This is the first Bluetooth 5.0 earbuds I've ever reviewed and I love it a lot. Here are some of the amazing features of the Juxxe JamSports X1.
- Bluetooth 5.0 - Sound Quality and Range is much better than all the other Bluetooth Earbuds I've ever tried so far. My room is pretty big, I can leave my phone charging at one corner while I listen to my headphones showering in my bathroom.
- As I mentioned, Showering - IP66 Water and Dust Protection. Although I can't swim with these headphones, but showering with them seems fine.
- Auto Power On and Pairing. In the past, pairing two Wireless Earbuds can be pretty much full of hassle, I had to press certain buttons for how many seconds then wait for the other earbud to respond and press another button. JamSports X1 is fully automated.
- Extra Bass, sound quality is really good with JamSports X1. Treble is clear, mids are great and bass is amazing, provided that you use the correct fittings.
Here is one thing that I didn't like about the Juxxe - JamSports X1 :
- Sensitivity of Touch Control. I find this a little too sensitive, there are times where I try to adjust my earbuds to fit better but I'll end up accidentally lowering or increasing the volume. Maybe double taps would be better than single tap for volume control.
One of the best in-ear True Wireless Earbuds I've ever used to date, in terms of technology, built quality, and sound quality. I would prefer it to be fully waterproof though, because I swim a lot.
