Mood : Playful Mood (Very Playful!)

Key : G Major (Simple Song)

This is another nice song from Taylor. Song's in G Major. Very Straightforward! The only challenging part is the coordination because we're playing the Melody in between an accompaniment with a unique beat. ie G and D twice.

Click HERE to view the video. You'll need to watch it while reading a printed copy of this tutorial. Like usual, use your ears to figure out the Right Hand Melody. If you don't know how, read from my first few tutorials and practice the songs from there one by one before you reach this tutorial. By the time you practice around 10 songs, I promise you'll be almost there. By the time you're at 21st song, you'll be better than me because it has already become your HABIT.

If you choose to give up here. Good Luck =)

Introduction :
G and D x4 (Twice Each)
The Music Just Starts!

I am not the kind of girl
Who should be rudely barging in
On a white veil occasion
But you are not the kind of boy
Who should be marrying the wrong girl

(Use 5th Apart Chords. GD 2x, DA 2x, AE 2x, CG 2x back to GD. Second Part a little Different on AE and CG. Slows Down and Pause. Right Hand plays the Melody)

I sneak in and see your friends
And her snotty little family
All dressed in pastel
And she is yelling at a bridesmaid
Somewhere back inside a room
Wearing a gown shaped like a pastry

(Slightly Louder. Use 5th Apart Chords with Octaves. GD 2x, DA 2x, AE 2x, CG 2x back to GD and repeat)

This is surely not
What you thought it would be
I lose myself in a daydream
Where I stand and say:

(Smooth and Gentle, Left Hand dances on A, C, G, D back to A, C, then D. Pause)

Don't say yes, run away now
I'll meet you when you're out
Of the church at the back door

Don't wait or say a single vow
You need to hear me out
And they said "speak now"

(CHORUS! Left Hand Dances on Chords G, D, A, C while Right Hand plays the Melody with Chords on important parts. Rich!)

(Slight Bridge. Same Chords G, D, A, C)

Fond gestures are exchanged
And the organ starts to play
A song that sounds like a death march

(Louder. Use 5th Apart Chords with Octaves at your own Unique Beat. GD 2x, DA 2x, AE 2x, CG 2x back to GD and repeat)

And I am hiding in the curtains
It seems that I was uninvited
By your lovely bride-to-be

(Louder. Use 5th Apart Chords with Octaves at your own Unique Beat. GD 2x, DA 2x, AE 2x, CG 2x back to GD and repeat)

She floats down the aisle
Like a pageant queen
But I know you wish it was me
You wish it was me (Don't cha?)
(Smooth and Gentle, Left Hand dances on A, C, G, D back to A, C, then D. Pause)

Don't say yes, run away now
I'll meet you when you're out
Of the church at the back door

Don't wait or say a single vow
You need to hear me out
And they said "speak now"

Don't say yes, run away now
I'll meet you when you're out
Of the church at the back door

Don't wait or say a single vow
Your time is running out
And they said, "speak now"

(CHORUS! Second Part can be more Creative! Left Hand Dances on Chords G, D, A, C while Right Hand plays the Melody with Chords on important parts. Rich!)

Oh Oh Oh! ( said speak now.... )

(Slight Bridge. Same Chords G, D, A, C)

I hear the preacher say
"Speak now or forever ho-old your pea-ea-ea-eace
There's the silence, there's my last chance
I stand up with shaking hands, all eyes on me

(Bridge! Left Hand dances at a unique beat on E, C, G, D then A, C, D)

Horrified looks from
Everyone in the room
But I'm only looking at you.

(Almost Silent. Playfully play, this part. Chords are A, C, G, D)

I am not the kind of girl
Who should be rudely barging in
On a white veil occasion
But you are NOT the kind of boy
Who should be marrying the wrong girl!!!!!

(Louder. Use 5th Apart Chords with Octaves at your own Unique Beat. GD 2x, DA 2x, AE 2x, CG 2x Emo End!)

So don't say yes, run away now
I'll meet you when you're out
Of the church at the back door

Don't wait or say a single vow
You need to hear me out
And they said, "speak now"

And you Say
Let's run away now
I'll meet you when
I'm out of my tux at the back door
Baby, I didn't say my vows
So glad you were around when they said "Speak now"

(CHORUS! Second Part can be more Creative! Left Hand Dances on Chords G, D, A, C while Right Hand plays the Melody with Chords on important parts. Rich!)

Mood : Emo Mood

Key : D Major

This is another pretty emotional song. Pretty straightforward to play, but I wouldn't say it's really easy. The progression of the lyrics for first and second part is quite different. Unless you know the song well, it's very difficult to try to learn this within less than half an hour for most people.

Introduction :
In the actual song, this part was played with a few guitars and a synthesizer. Try to mimic the background and the guitar parts.

RH : G, F#, D, A, then A B A B A B A B and G, F#, D, A then D E D E D E D E
LH : D then B quickly to G repeat

You'll play this part a lot. Use some chords!

I'm so glad you made time to see me
How's life, tell me how's your family
I haven't seen them in a while
You've been good, busier then ever
We small talk, work and the weather
Your guard is up and I know why
(Left Hand gracefully dances on D, B, G, A while Right Hand plays the Melody simple with some trills)

'Cause the last time you saw me
Is still burned in the back of your mind
You gave me roses and I left them there to die
(Left Hand gracefully moves to B, A, D, F# to G then B, A, G. Right Hand plays the melody and towards the chorus. D G)

So this is me swallowing my pride,
Standing in front of you saying I'm sorry for that night
And I'd go back to December all the time
It turns out freedom ain't nothing but missing you
Wishing I'd realized what I had when you were mine
I'd go back to December, turn around and make it all right
I'd go back to December all the time
(Chorus! Left Hand dances on D, F#, G, D, A for first part. D, F#, G, D, A, G, then B, A back to D. Right Hand plays the Melody with chords!)

These days I haven't been sleeping
Staying up playing back myself leaving
When your birthday passed and I didn't call
And I think about summer, all the beautiful times
I watched you laughing from the passenger side and,
Realized I loved you in the fall
(Left Hand gracefully dances on D, B, G, A while Right Hand plays the Melody with some chords and trills)

And then the cold came, the dark days when fear crept into my mind
You gave me all your love and all I gave you was goodbye
(Left Hand gracefully moves to B, A, D, F# to G then B, A, G. Right Hand plays the melody and towards the chorus. D G)

So this is me swallowing my pride,
Standing in front of you saying I'm sorry for that night
And I'd go back to December all the time
It turns out freedom ain't nothing but missing you
Wishing I'd realized what I had when you were mine
I'd go back to December, turn around and change my own mind
I'd go back to December all the time
(Chorus! Left Hand dances on D, F#, G, D, A for first part. D, F#, G, D, A, G, then B, A back to D. Right Hand plays the Melody with chords!)

Bridge
(LH : D, B, G repeat. RH : F#, A, B, C#, D, second time C#, D high notes)

I miss your tan skin, your sweet smile, so good to me, so right
And how you held me in your arms that September night,
The first time you ever saw me cry
(Left Hand dances strongly B, G, D, A repeat. Right Hand plays Melody)

Maybe this is wishful thinking
Probably mindless dreaming
(B B B then G G G Octave. Right Hand, freestyle on lyrics)

If we loved again I swear I'd love you right
(Left Hand D, then G)

I'd go back in time and change it but I can't
(Left Hand B, A, G)
So if the chain is on your door, I understand
(Left Hand B, A, G, Right Hand Freestyle)

But this is me swallowing my pride,
Standing in front of you saying I'm sorry for that night
And I'd go back to December
It turns out freedom ain't nothing but missing you
Wishing I'd realized what I had when you were mine
I'd go back to December, turn around and make it alright
I'd go back to December, turn around and change my own mind
I'd go back to December all the time
(Chorus! Start from very very soft. Left Hand dances on D, F#, G, D, A for first part. D, F#, G, D, A, G, then B, A back to D. Right Hand plays the Melody with chords!)

This song was played in a rush. But, I'm glad I was able to pick some of the grace notes of the song from its background.

Click
HERE to watch how I played the song. In my older videos, you won't be able to see my fingers. LoLz...

For those who read music! You're gonna like this.
Introduction

Your Left Hand just dances on C and F, it's originally a guitar part. Imagine yourself plucking the guitar strings. Your Right Hand plays the Background Music as in F G F G A, F G F G A Bb A, F G F G A, F C Bb A G F

Then Left Hand move an Octave lower to dance on chords, F, C, G, Bb back to F

There's somethin' 'bout the way the street looks when it's just rained
There's a glow off the pavement, you walk me to the car
And you know I wanna ask you to dance right there
In the middle of the parking lot, yeah
(Left Hand gracefully dances on the fundamental chords F, C, G, Bb up to C then F again while Right Hand plays the Melody in simple form)

Intro style

We're drivin' down the road, I wonder if you know
I'm tryin' so hard not to get caught up now
But you're just so cool, run your hands through your hair
Absent-mindedly makin' me want you
(Left Hand gracefully dances on the fundamental chords F, C, G, Bb up to C then F again while Right Hand plays the Melody in simple form)

And I don't know how it gets better than this
You take my hand and drag me headfirst, fearless
And I don't know why but with you I dance
In a storm in my best dress, fearless
(Chorus! Left Hand dances on F (G A C), C (C D F), G (G A Bb), Bb C. Right Hand plays the melody rich in chords!)

Intro Style

So baby drive slow 'til we run out of road
In this one horse town, I wanna stay right here
In this passenger seat, you put your eyes on me
In this moment, now capture it, remember it
(Left Hand gracefully dances on the fundamental chords F, C, G, Bb up to C then F again while Right Hand plays the Melody in simple form)

'Cause I don't know how it gets better than this
You take my hand and drag me headfirst, fearless
And I don't know why but with you I'd dance
In a storm in my best dress, fearless
(Chorus! Left Hand dances on F (G A C), C (C D F), G (G A Bb), Bb C. Right Hand plays the melody rich in chords!)

Bridge (Same chords, listen to the guitar part! Play it with your Right Hand)

Well, you stood there with me in the doorway
My hands shake, I'm not usually this way
But you pull me in and I'm a little more brave
It's the first kiss, it's flawless, really somethin'
It's fearless
(Bridge, Left Hand dances from Chord Eb, to F the G, A, Bb, C back to Eb repeat. Right Hand plays the Melody in Octaves!)

Okay... You can't see my fingers in this video. That was how my videos were originally recorded until people asked me to make video tutorials which I can't really make without anyone standing directly above me holding the video camera. That's the reason I place my camera as how I place it now.

Introduction
Chords D, G, B, G then D, G, B, A for Left Hand, while Right Hand plays the background according to the chords within the Key itself.

We were both young when I first saw you
I close my eyes
And the flashback starts
I'm standing there
On a balcony in summer air
(Left Hand replaces the notes that were being played by Right Hand previously, Right Hand now plays the Melody)

See the lights
See the party, the ball gowns
I see you make your way through the crowd
And say hello, little did I know
(Left Hand replaces the notes that were being played by Right Hand previously, Right Hand now plays the Melody. Richer and Bolder using lower notes for Left Hand)

That you were Romeo, you were throwing pebbles
And my daddy said stay away from Juliet
And I was crying on the staircase
Begging you please don't go, and I said
(Chords changed to G, A, B, D, then G, A, B, back to G, A, to D)

Romeo take me somewhere we can be alone
I'll be waiting all there's left to do is run
You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess
It's a love story baby just say yes
(Chorus! D, A, B, G, A, back to D are the chords)

So I sneak out to the garden to see you
We keep quiet 'cause we're dead if they knew
So close your eyes
Escape this town for a little while
(Really bold, similar to intro chords)

'Cause you were Romeo, I was a scarlet letter
And my daddy said stay away from Juliet
But you were everything to me
I was begging you please don't go and I said
(Chords changed to G, A, B, D, then G, A, B, back to G, A, to D)

Romeo take me somewhere we can be alone
I'll be waiting all there's left to do is run
You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess
It's a love story baby just say yes
(Chorus! D, A, B, G, A, back to D are the chords)

Romeo save me, they try to tell me how to feel
This love is difficult, but it's real
Don't be afraid, we'll make it out of this mess
It's a love story baby just say yes
Oh oh
(Chorus! D, A, B, G, A, back to D are the chords)

Bridge!!! (D, A, B, G, A, then....)

I got tired of waiting
Wondering if you were ever coming around
My faith in you is fading
When I met you on the outskirts of town, and I said
(Really soft really gentle on B, G, D, A, then back to B, G, D, A)

Romeo save me I've been feeling so alone
I keep waiting for you but you never come
Is this in my head? I don't know what to think
He knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring
(Build the momentum again!!!)

And said, marry me Juliet
You'll never have to be alone
I love you and that's all I really know
I talked to your dad, go pick out a white dress
It's a love story baby just say yes
(Change to E Major)

Oh, oh, oh, oh
'Cause we were both young when I first saw you
(Ending similar to parts of the bridge)

Mood : Playful Mood
+ Happy Mood + Emo Mood (So much mixed emotions here I can't describe, you decide)

Key : F# Major

I know a lot of you guys are waiting for this. Could be your favorite song on my Channel. This song is actually pretty straightforward. However, since a HUGE part of the song is in the black keys, it becomes rather challenging. I know you can do it!

Click
HERE to see my version. You'll need it to learn it.

Note : Try not to play as fast as me. I played it fast because that was my feeling back then, slightly clubbing.

Intro :
Left Hand : F# single notes, Right Hand : Roll from F# to Bb then Db, then follow the lyrics x2

You're on the phone with your girlfriend, she's upset
She's going off about something that you said
'Cause she doesn't get your humor like I do
(Keep it simple coz you need to build the mood from here to the chorus. Single notes on F#, C#, Ab, then B, right hand playing lyrics single notes)

I'm in the room, it's a typical Tuesday night
I'm listening to the kind of music she doesn't like
And she'll never know your story like I do
(Build the mood from here using octaves. Octaves on F#, C#, Ab, then B, right hand playing lyrics single notes)

But she wears short skirts, I wear T-shirts
She's Cheer Captain and I'm on the bleachers
(Right hand starts to use chords on the lyrics while Left Hand dance around chords Ab, B, F#, C# according to the background beat)
Dreaming about the day when you wake up and find
That what you're looking for has been here the whole time
(Chords Ab, B, then C# according to the background beat. Build the mood for Chorus)

If you could see that I'm the one who understands you
Been here all along, so why can't you see?
You, you belong with me, you belong with me
(Climax mood here. Left Hand dance richly and gracefully on chords F#, C#, with slight pauses on Ab, B to slow down the mood)

Intro style once

Walking the streets with you and your worn-out jeans
I can't help thinking this is how it ought to be
Laughing on a park bench, thinking to myself
Hey, isn't this easy?
(Build the mood earlier from here using octaves. Octaves on F#, C#, Ab, then B, right hand playing lyrics single notes)

And you've got a smile that could light up this whole town
I haven't seen it in a while since she brought you down
You say you're fine, I know you better than that
Hey, what ya doing with a girl like that?
(Build the mood earlier from here using octaves. Octaves on F#, C#, Ab, then B, right hand playing lyrics single notes)

She wears high heels, I wear sneakers
She's Cheer Captain and I'm on the bleachers
(Right hand starts to use chords on the lyrics while Left Hand dance around chords Ab, B, F#, C# according to the background beat)
Dreaming about the day when you wake up and find
That what you're looking for has been here the whole time
(Chords Ab, B, then C# according to the background beat. Build the mood for Chorus)

If you could see that I'm the one who understands you
Been here all along, so why can't you see?
You belong with me
(Climax mood here. Left Hand dance richly and gracefully on chords F#, C#, with slight pauses on Ab, B to slow down the mood)

Standing by and waiting at your back door
All this time how could you not know?
Baby, you belong with me, you belong with me
(Climax mood here. Left Hand dance richly and gracefully on chords F#, C#, with slight pauses on Ab, B to slow down the mood back to F#)

Bridge
Dance both hands on F#, C#, Ab, then B)

Oh, I remember you driving to my house in the middle of the night
I'm the one who makes you laugh when you know you're 'bout to cry
(Dance on chords Ab, B, F#, then C#)
And I know your favorite songs and you tell me 'bout your dreams
Think I know where you belong, think I know it's with me
(Dance on chords Ab, B, F#, then C# silent)

Can't you see that I'm the one who understands you?
Been here all along, so why can't you see?
You belong with me
(You need to know how to build up the mood here, use your own style. Chords are F#, C#, Ab, B)

Standing by and waiting at your back door
All this time, how could you not know?
Baby, you belong with me, you belong with me
(Climax mood here. Left Hand dance richly and gracefully on chords F#, C#, with slight pauses on Ab, B)

You belong with me
Have you ever thought just maybe
You belong with me?
You belong with me
(Climax mood here. Left Hand dance richly and gracefully on chords F#, C#, with slight pauses on Ab, B to slow down the mood back to F# silent)

Mood :
Emo Mood (In a Romantic Way) +
Happy Mood
(I know this is very weird, but that was how I felt when I play this song)

Key : C Major (This song is rather easy to play)

(Start with style, you're using the left hand to play the bass with octaves, right hand to play the background music, there's no melody in the beginning. Watch my video and see what I do here)

(Left hand : C)
(Right hand : G, Lower C, Upper C)

I remember what you wore on the first day
You came into my life
And I thought hey
You know this could be something
(Left hand move to the middle near to right hand, chords are C, A, F, then G. Try to keep the style and tempo closes to the beginning. In the actual song, you can still hear the background music with G, Lower C, Upper C. But hey, we only have 1 pair of hands, just do your best to create the background music)
'Cause everything you do and words you say
You know that it all takes my breath away
And now I'm left with nothing
(Slightly louder on the C this time. Chords are C, A, F, then G. Similar effect to the above)

'Cause maybe it's true, that I can't live without you
Well maybe two is better than one
(Use left hand to continue the G, Lower C, Upper C background effects, right hand starts to play the melody)(When the melody comes in, flow your chords along F, G, F, G)
There's so much time, to figure out the rest of my life
And you've already got me coming undone
(Chords are F, G, then A, back to G, then F)
And I'm thinking two, is better than one
(Back to G, A, then G, then back to C)

I remember every look upon your face,
The way you roll your eyes, the way you taste
You make it hard for breathing
(Really grand here to accompany Taylor's part, use the lowest C octaves you can play, see the video for more information. Chords are C, A, F then G. But in between, you can add some bridging notes like when you're playing C going to A, you can play E in the middle. From A going to F you can play C in the middle)
'Cause when I close my eyes and drift away
I think of you and everythings okay
And finally now, we're leaving
(Again, chords are C, A, F then G. But in between, you can add some bridging notes like when you're playing C going to A, you can play E in the middle. From A going to F you can play C in the middle)

And maybe it's true, that I can't live without you
Well maybe two is better than one
(Flow your chords along F, G, F, G)
There's so much time, to figure out the rest of my life
And you've already got me coming undone
(Chords are F, G, then A, back to G, then F)
And I'm thinking two, is better than one
(Back to G, A, then G, then back to C)

(Flow from F, A, F, D, G, then C, right hand playing B, C, G, B, C, B, C, B, G, E just follow the background music)
Yeah, yeah

I remember what you wore on the first day
You came into my life
And I thought hey
(Really really soft, C, A fade out)

Maybe it's true, that I can't live without you
Maybe two is better than one
(Flow your chords along F, G, F, G)
There's so much time, to figure out the rest of my life
And you've already got me coming undone
(Chords are F, G, then A, back to G, then F)
And I'm thinking
(F)

Oooh I can't live without you
'Cause baby two is better than one
(Flow your chords along F, G, F, G)
There's so much time, to figure out the rest of my life
And I've figured out with all that's said and done
(Chords are F, G, then A, back to G, then F)
Two, is better than one
(A, G, then C loudly)

Two is better than one
(C, E, A then F, G, back to C with the G, lower C, upper C background with right hand)
